As I’ve written about in the post called “electric fireplace reviews“, I’ve acquired a website that reviews every popular electric fireplace insert on the basis of quality, style, and price. I’ve also acquired a domain that details cheap greenhouses. These are my non-financial/non-investing domains.

My newest investing/financial domain is an investing blog that explains the basics of how to invest in bonds, the stock market, and mutual funds. It also includes pages on savings accounts, the best CD rates, and other investing information.

We’re also in talks with a company in order to potentially purchase a new web property that includes retirement tutorials. If this deal goes through, we’ll develop it with information on early retirement, the best places to retire, and information for investing for retirement. This will be a completely free “tutorial” oriented website as well — just like the other websites in the investment research network.

We’re also putting a full-throttle marketing campaign for our debt consolidation website, building tutorials dealing with debt consolidation, as well as debt settlement, debt reduction tips, frugality information, and guides for anyone looking to reduce their monthly interest rates while increasing their credit score. This website is also completely free.

In the last few weeks, we finalized a deal with a buyer who approached us about purchasing Learn Financial Planning. The website has now successfully changed hands, payment has been made, and our time and efforts are now being focused on our other and new projects.

After selling the website, we began looking for a low-cost investment. Preferably a website that was getting a healthy level of traffic, but wasn’t being completely monetized. We recently stumbled across and purchased a website on electric fireplaces called “The Electric Fireplace Place.”

The website covers everything from information and the history of electric fireplaces, to reviews of different electric heaters and electric fireplace inserts.

Today is the first full day that the website is under our control, and we’ve already upped the monetization with a substantial redesign, and placement of Adsense, Amazon, and Shopzilla ads throughout the website.

We’re excited about the new domain, and are still open to the idea of buying other websites, so long as the website generate at least 100 unique visitors from search engines per day.

Over the next year, our goal with the fireplace website is to get it to rank top 10 for “fireplace”, “electric fireplaces” and every other major keyword it already currently targets. After 1500 daily visitors is achieved, we’ll then begin talks with some drop-shipping firms to discuss the possibility of actually selling products on the website rather than simply selling advertisements.

There are a variety of reasons why we’re making this move to focus on mining stocks — gold mining stocks in particular. Here are just a few of the reasons:

• Bullish on Commodities. Commodities are going to soar over the next 3-5 decades. Even if the US is replaced in the world market, China, India and the rest of the world are going to need more iron, gold, silver, coal and pretty much every other commodity that is mined. That means it’s a market we should focus on.

• Mining Stocks Are Real. I’m a huge fan of mining stocks over most other ways to invest in commodities, because you actually own part of a company. Less paper shuffling, more likely to get a nice dividend, etc. It’s just more tangible, “more real” and a better deal than a lot of other commodities investing strategies.

• Comprehensive Marketing. Since most of the network is investing and financial oriented, it only makes sense for us to leverage the network so that most of the sites have a fairly consistent message. By having each site write about the same topic, we’re allowing the sites to provide more comprehensive analysis than if just one site covered the content.

• Lists Are Easy. Mining stocks pages almost always include lists of stocks and mining companies. That’s easy content to write, for the most part, and anyone with patience and access to Google can write the content. That makes it easier on our staff while still providing a valuable service to readers by giving free content out.

• Lot’s of Traffic. It’s in demand. People want to know what the best mining stocks are, which ones they should buy, which ones they should sell — people want to learn more about mining stocks. That’s evidenced by the fact that htere are millions of searches every month for mining news and information on Google and Yahoo.

Over the next few months or years, you’re going to have a lot of doubts. You’re going to have a lot of second thoughts. You might even accidentally look back. You’re going to have people to tell you to cave in, put your hands up, and go back to their way of doing things. You’re probably going to backslide a few times. You might come close to giving up. For these situations, you’re going to need a defense mechanism.

Copy and paste this post and put it in a word document. Don’t worry about remembering where it came from — that”ll just serve as a distraction. Just get the text and keep a copy of it. Whenever you’re coming close to giving up or caving in or going back — read the following.

Suck it up. You’re bigger than this. The entire concept of human ambition rests in the philosophy of never caving in when you know you’re in the right. Don’t want to give up? Then don’t. Don’t want to fail? Then don’t accept defeat. Wish you were stronger? Then just be stronger; emotional strength is a choice.

So you think you want to start a business? Then don’t you dare give up, even if you have to fail and go bankrupt a few times. You want to run your own life? Then giving up isn’t even a question of money anymore. Going back to getting used to a regular job and boss isn’t just about cash — it’s a question of life and walking death. If you give up now that you’ve tried to start out on your own, you’ll never see yourself the same. You’ll never shake that doubting feeling. You’ll never be able to look yourself in the eyes even if you could.

So people are telling you you’re nuts? Well they’re the crazy ones, living a life that’s innefficient and incoherent. They’re running themselves to the bone, and they’re not getting crap in return. A secure income? That’s a joke, and most of them are going to get fired at some point. There’s no such thing as a secure income; there’s risk everywhere, and if you don’t like it you might as well just get over it, because reality isn’t changing anytime soon.

So you’re feeling a little lonely? Good. You can focus on your work and dreams with less distractions. Hollywood tells us that success isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Well, Hollywood isn’t all it’s cracked up to be either. There’s nothing that can compare to the feeling you’re going to get when you can look at what you’ve done, know that you never caved, and stand there resting in the certainty of your own integrity.

I’m talking about always knowing that you can do whatever you want with your life.

I’m talking about figuring out what you want and just going for it.

I’m talking about the American dream.
